Parent Association Update

by, Becky Gama-Lobo and Heidi Moss (Outgoing PA Co-Presidents)

As members of the Los Encinos PA Board, we’re inspired to see so many parents (and grandparents!) contribute their time and talents to our community. The 2018-2019 school year was no exception.

Each fall our parent volunteers help plan popular school events like Book Buddies, the Halloween Parade & Carnival, and the Thanksgiving Feast & Virginia Reel.

Our winter focus is the annual Gala, where we come together as a community for a beautiful evening of fundraising and friendraising.

The spring months are busy preparing for numerous events like Faculty Appreciation Day, School Beautification, Art Show & Open House, Grandparents & Special Friends Day, and Sports Day.

And year-round, we have parents giving their time as Room Parents and volunteering for such committees as Dining for Dollars, Hot Lunch, Library, and Service Learning.

As a small school, Los Encinos relies on parent volunteers — and we’re grateful to have such an active, supportive community. If you’d like to get involved, please click here for more information.

At Your Service

by, Jenny Lapidus (Community Coordinator)
An integral part of the Los Encinos School experience is both community projects and service. The program is designed to encourage meaningful student and parent participation. Integrating our school’s Virtues and Values helps us put concepts like empathy and kindness into practice.

The kindergarteners (Class of 2025) display the necessities they purchased at Target that were donated to residents of LA Family Housing.
