"Many Voices, Many Stories"

Revenue & Expenses

The financial challenges to our community that began in Spring 2020 continued throughout the 2020-2021 school year.  With so many families still out of work due to Covid, the Board of Trustees jumped into action, approving the highest levels of tuition assistance in the history of the school.  Beyond this, the school continued to make the extensive facility improvements necessary to obtain one of the first permits to re-open campus approved by Los Angeles County.  While the costs of running the three-pronged learning model of on-campus, hybrid and virtual classrooms stretched the school’s resources, the Administration knew more still had to be done.  To meet the non-financial needs of our community, LES dedicated funds to expanding the Social Emotional and DEIJ programs for students, parents, extended family members, and employees.

The forgiveness of our PPP loan, an Emergency Assistance grant, an eighth year of 100% participation in the LES Fund and our second virtual gala helped the school meet its financial obligations in a year where increased costs were the norm.

Los Encinos School continues to weather the pandemic crisis and maintain healthy financial standing thanks to the Board of Trustees’ and Administration’s focus on the long-term sustainability of our campus, community, and mission-driven program.
