Important Note If Applying For The 2024-2025 School Year

January 16th, 2024 was our application deadline for applicants applying for the 2024-2025 school year. Any applicants who apply after the January 16th deadline will be in a second-round of consideration. Applicants will need to submit all required paperwork and must attend a student assessment.

Applicants who applied before the deadline will be notified on March 8th of their acceptance status. Those applicants who are accepted have until March 15th to notify LES whether or not they will accept an admissions offer to LES. After March 15th we will then notify applicants in our second round of consideration of their acceptance status.

Considering between a K-6th or a K-12th School?

Consider the POWER of small.

At Los Encinos School we embrace our small size. With one class per grade, from kindergarten to sixth grade, we witness daily the advantages of our size and how our sole focus on elementary education benefits not only our students, but also their families.

Why Rush Childhood?

Your child’s early years are an important formative and foundational time in their lives. It’s also a magical time filled with curiosity and wonder. As we like to say, “Nothing is bigger than childhood” and that’s why we have a singular focus on an educational environment that celebrates childhood. LES’ campus is filled with five to eleven-year-olds, where everyone knows each other’s name and friendships are made across grades. It’s a safe place where kids can be kids without pressure to grow up too fast. Imagine adding more than a hundred twelve- to eighteen-year-olds, and I’m sure you can see how dramatically a campus can change.

A Chance to Lead

On a K-12 campus it’s easy to see how a sixth grader can get nominalized. At LES our sixth grade “seniors” are recognized with increased responsibilities. From running our Friday Assemblies, to hosting monthly, mixed-grade Care Family meetings, to mentoring a kindergartener through our buddy program, they have plenty of practice to develop their leadership skills. And when the time comes to move on to middle school, they have learned it’s okay to speak up, ask for help, and be an advocate for themselves and others.

A Sole Focus

At LES both administration and staff are 100% focused on delivering an amazing elementary school experience. Unlike schools that may need to spend significant energies towards things that older students require, such as college counseling, dances, and huge athletic programs, LES remains a place where kids can be kids and not a place where kids turn into adults.

A Chance to Reset and Re-evaluate

When our sixth graders move on to middle school (and into their teen-age years!), this transition gives them a chance to branch out, spread their wings, and practice important life skills. Having an opportunity to make new friends, find new interests, along with a chance to reinvent themselves in a new setting, prepares them for the many other transitions they will encounter in their lives.

Parents also benefit from the as they have an opportunity to evaluate their child’s academic, social, and emotional development before deciding about the most suitable secondary school experience that may align with their child’s interest.

At Los Encinos School we firmly believe in the POWER of small!
