About Los Encinos School...

"We Celebrate Children"

Los Encinos, independent and non-profit, is a small elementary school with a large commitment to every child. As a small school, our reach extends not only to the child, but also to the family. We provide an excellent academic program within a nurturing environment where children in grades K through 6 are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and pleasure in learning.

stairOur program utilizes a variety of instructional strategies to ensure progress and achievement. We respect individuality among children and we believe personal success is a child’s best motivator. We seek to develop in children their fullest potential.

Our primary goals are to prepare students with a strong academic foundation and to cultivate a passionate curiosity for learning. Teachers, serving as facilitators, provide a variety of experiences to develop critical thinkers and engaged problem-solvers. Our school-wide integrated curriculum is rich in the humanities and stresses the importance of teamwork and cooperation. Opportunities for service learning and a commitment to character education promote mutual respect. Our students are ready to take their place in our community and can successfully navigate the demands of our diverse world.

History

Visionary educator Chris Holabird founded Los Encinos School in 1980. While the school continues to meet the ever-changing needs of children and families, the Los Encinos mission and philosophy have remained the same since its inception. Los Encinos School continues to be, "a small school with a large commitment to every child," providing richly integrated educational experiences for children in grades kindergarten through six.
